Javeed Ahmad
Javeed Ahmad is a retired officer of the Indian Police Service (I.P.S) of the 1984 batch, UP cadre. He has 37 years of experience in leadership and law enforcement covering aspects including anti-corruption investigations, policy planning, crisis management and security management.
During this time, he has held several key leadership positions including Director General of Police (DGP) for the State of Uttar Pradesh, Home Secretary, Government of Uttar Pradesh, DG Fire Services UP, DG Railway Police UP, DG PAC UP, Joint Director, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Director, National Institute of Criminology and Forensic Sciences(NICFS), and other frontline field police assignments.
During his career across various assignments, Javeed Ahmad has been at the forefront of modernizing and humanizing the police force. His professional expertise in anti-corruption, financial sector fraud, and serious crime investigation gives him a sound understanding of criminal and constitutional law, relating to Rule of Law And Fundamental Rights.
Through his leadership, he has propagated the necessity for ethical and professional decision making and adopting technology to assist law enforcement. His extensive and successful stint in various strategic leadership roles make him a compelling resource for organizations looking to resolve complex issues at the intersection of policy, law enforcement, anti-corruption and stakeholder management.
His services have been recognized twice by the President of India. He Was awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service and Presidents Medal for Distinguished Service in 2000 and 2009 respectively. Javeed completed his B.A. and M.A. in History from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi.
