Rahul Matthan is a Fellow with Takshashila’s Technology & Policy Research Programme.

Rahul is a partner with Trilegal and heads its TMT practice. He currently serves on the management committee of the firm.

Rahul has advised on some of the largest technology and telecom acquisitions in the country. He advises domestic and international corporations on a wide range of regulatory issues including in relation to privacy, map regulation, fintech, encryption, spectrum regulation, e-commerce, sharing economy, biotech, digital content and streaming media. He has been included in The Mint newspaper’s list of 25 People who Matter in Indian e-commerce.

Rahul has been involved in a number of policy initiatives including assisting the government in preparing the country’s privacy law as well as its Unique ID law. He is currently a member of the Reserve Bank of India’s Committee on Household Finance.

He is a frequent speaker and has a weekly column on issues at the intersection of law and technology.
